After meeting record collector Jean Roger aka JR on a flea market, Eric P. invited him in the FM Brussel studio for a Laid Back session (October 2008)… Blown away by his stories and musical knowledge, we decided to meet him again to discuss about music, records, travels and life in general. More than a crate digger, JR is a man who follows his heart in order to achieve his dreams.
Working on our first 15 minutes documentary was a hell of a DIY learning experience but we made it!
Let's hope this is only the first in a long series.

Our band was so innovative" says Hagins "For years , i tried and tried to convince all the major labels to sign us and i begged them that 'grunge' rock was gonna be the next big thing - this is very common knowledge in the South Bay,....everybody THOUGHT that I was crazy and insane,..they said that 'alternative music' was never gonna make it ,..and that it was subject only to the 'bargain bins' at record stores,..well, I fought like hell,..not just for me,..but for ALL EMO BANDS,....WE WANTED TO DESTROY heavy metal and bands like Skid Row and Def Leppard,..it was a tough tall order,....when i suddenly saw Nirvana going off huge,..i was a little stunned,...I mean i was a little happy to see that my ideas could work in the big time of the main stream,...but then I began to get bitter and angry and i wondered how it was,...how was it possible that G.e. of all bands ,..still couldn't get signed,...even with our song BRANDY in 1992,..it really bummed me,..out,..it made me give up and quit ,..by late 92' ,..I was over,..G.E. WAS OVER !! Our bassist Ted had quit and went and joined a punk rock band called the One handed Readers in Redondo,.....me and Palle Carlson tried to keep G.e. alive ,..but then he went back to Denmark,..man,..it was sad,..things were falling apart fast,....then, I saw all those bands like Weezer and Green day

Canada's Lillix - HD Concert Performance With Interviews

On Saturday March 12th, Lillix was in Ontario for Canadian Music Week. They graciously played an HD performance at the IFM/Platinum Entertainment studio. During the trip to my studio, I interviewed Tasha and Lacey about now being indepenedent, past members, the new CD and much more!

From humble beginnings in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Lillix formed in 1997 and were soon signed to Maverick Records in 2001. Lillix’ debut album “Falling Uphill” was released in May of 2003. With help from hit singles; “Tomorrow”, “It’s About Time” and a cover of The Romantics’ classic “What I like about you” (featured on the Freaky Friday soundtrack and co-stared Lindsay Lohan in the music video). Falling Uphill sold over half of a million copies worldwide.
Playing shows on Warped Tour with comrades such as The Sounds, Yellowcard and My Chemical Romance, Lillix have earned a diverse and loyal fan base. Lillix have opened for high profile acts from Metric & Alanis Morisette to Aerosmith & KISS. Between live appearances on the Tom Green show, TRL and Much on Demand, Lillix extensively toured North America and Japan (where their album achieved Gold status). They have Juno nominations for “Best New Group” and “Best Pop Album” and won “Best New Group” at the Canadian Radio Music Awards.
In 2006 Tasha-Ray and Lacey-Lee teamed up with drummer Alicia Warrington (Kelly Osbourne, Miley Cyrus) and released their sophomore album “Inside the Hollow”. The album was produced by Jeff Saltzman (The Killers) and James Michael (Motley Crue, Sixx A.M.). The single “Sweet Temptation” was voted one of the “Top 100 Songs of 2006” in Blender magazine.
After touring “Inside the Hollow” and with the sudden and unexpected demise of Maverick Records. Alicia and founding member Louise Burns decided to depart the band. The sisters took the time to regroup and made a key decision to *Gasp* add boys to the band... Backing the sisters are Eric Hoodicoff (Savage Blade, The Fuckstixx), Alex Varon (The Fall Collection, Bug House 5) and Cameron Brass (The Fall Collection, Mico).
With a power packed new line up, Lillix went into the studio with producer "Futcher" and recorded their third and boldest album to date "Tigerlily". Written entirely by the Evin sisters based on the experiences of the last 5 years, their talent shines showcasing their pop song-writing sensibility and their range of musicianship by playing all the instruments (minus Drums) on Tigerlily. The girls even took on some of the engineering as well as all management and marketing of Lillix.
"Most people would have given up knowing the challenges we have faced" Says Lacey-Lee
"Instead, we took them on and found ways to make it work because making music is what we love to do".
Delving into sexy melodic dance grooves and 80’s-esque pop ballads, the first single on "Tigerlily" is “Nowhere to Run” which features a Much Music heavy rotation video by award winning director Colin Minihan & National radio play. With Lillix finding their groove, up next is the second single “Back Up Girl” and the upcoming release of “Tigerlily” in Japan. With Lillix back in the ring, fans and critics alike predict a Tigerlily-TKO!
